The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US (GACC South), Houston office, located close to the famous Galleria, acts as a link between German and American businesses and works mainly with companies in the energy sector, especially in Renewable Energies, Energy Efficiency as well as Oil & Gas. We invite companies from all industries who have an interest in US expansion, particularly in the South and the State of Texas, to take advantage of our services.

Conference on Industrial Energy: Efficiency as the Competitive Advantage for Manufacturers

The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S is holding a one-day conference on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, on energy efficiency in the industry, followed by a 2-3 day business trip for German companies around Texas. The conference will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in Houston, TX.
Leading German and American experts will inform attendees about current trends in energy efficiency in the industry. Economic survey finds optimism among German companies in the US –
81 percent do not plan further layoffs for 2010
Washington D.C., November 19, 2009 – While 43 percent of German companies reduced their headcount in 2009, 81 percent do not foresee further cuts in 2010 – an early indicator that the major wave of lay-offs is ebbing. Almost three quarters of the firms maintain a positive outlook and expect moderate growth for 2010. Industries, such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and infrastructure show the greatest potential for further growth.
The German American Business Outlook, a new annual survey evaluating transatlantic trade relations and assessing German investors’ projections for the U.S. economy, addressed over 1,600 German subsidiaries in the U.S. It was conducted by the German American Chambers of Commerce (GACCs) in cooperation with the Representative of German Industry & Trade and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. 10 percent of senior management responded, 75 percent of which belong to the German Mittelstand.
