Annual German Beer Festival returns to Atlanta

With over thirty different beers being poured, the 7th Annual German Bierfest will celebrate German beer, food and culture in a family-friendly atmosphere.

The 7th Annual German Bierfest will be held on Saturday, August 28th, 2010 in Woodruff Park in Atlanta, GA. The festival will run from 2:00 – 7:00 pm.  Tickets are available online for $30 before the event (will be $35 day-of at the event), and include beer and entertainment. There will be German food vendors on site, including Petite Auberge. The magazine Beer Connoisseur and the events website Yelp will also be in attendance.

The German Bierfest is an event for the whole family: children and designated drivers are welcome and will not have to pay an entrance fee. However, no one under 21 will be allowed to drink and no pets will be admitted, no exceptions.

Hosted by the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US, Inc., the event will include over thirty types of German beer, entertainment for the whole family, and a variety of cultural food. Already on the schedule is local Atlanta band, The Conditionals, and to add a bit of German flair, Bavarian band Jacob Herzog and the Bavarian Express.

Usage of public transportation is encouraged and if anyone needs assistance in getting home, a designated driver company will be available.
