Delegations are one way in which Germany promotes foreign trade with the US as well as investment in German states. These are initiated by state level representatives such as members of the Ministry of Economics, Chambers of Commerce or German cities. With the support of high ranking politicians, the purpose of these trips is to bring German companies into contact with decision makers in politics and economics and as a result, open up the possibility of meeting new business contacts.

Delegation trips are also the perfect platform to exchange ideas, industry knowledge and promote bilateral business relationships. For many years, the German American Chamber of Commerce has successfully organized and completed a number of delegation trips.
